04 · Leakage

Leaks we see before the P&L goes quiet

Not mood. Money. Name the hole so the desk can plug it mid-shift.

The stylist left. The regulars left with them.

If history lives in one person’s phone, the salon owns nothing. salonbills parks visits, notes, and the next date on the business so a new chair can still serve a guest who already trusts the brand.

The book looks full. The chairs are not earning.

Paper and five logins hide gaps. Honest walk-in seating, self-booking on real capacity, and a next step for a cancel keep the hour from dying politely.

You hoped they would rebook. They did not.

If nobody offers a date, a plan, or the membership already sitting on file, the guest cools off. Warm floors ask once, kindly, before the door.

The shelf and the till argue at month end.

Too much stock ties cash. Too little kills the retail moment. When the bill moves the shelf, margin stops being a guess.

Straight answers

What operators ask before they switch.

What does salonbills do on a real salon floor?

salonbills is the operating system for the desk and the chair. You take a booking or a walk-in, assign staff, apply a membership if one is on file, and close a GST-ready ticket — services, retail, tips, packages, prepaid, prior due. The guest stays one record. We call that catching leaks: empty slots, unnamed walk-ins, and money that would have walked out with the guest.

If I only need a calendar, is salonbills the right tool?

A calendar-only product stops at the slot. salonbills starts there and keeps going through checkout. If your pain is “who sits when,” a booking widget can be enough. If your pain is “the chair was full and the till still leaked,” you want the book and the bill on the same guest. That is the test we use on a demo.

How does the salonbills book work with walk-ins?

Walk-ins sit on the same book as reserved guests. They can stay a guest if they will not share a phone. They can type a name and still generate a bill. If they share a number, Walk-in turns off and the desk can save a client, then apply membership or prior due. If someone dismisses the first membership prompt, Apply membership stays on the client row so the discount is not lost.

We are one location and a small team. Will this feel heavy?

No. You run booking and checkout first. Packages, prepaid, and extra reports wait until you need them. The same product grows with a second chair or a second city — you do not buy a new brand when the floor gets louder.

Where do client histories live?

On the profile the desk already opens. Phone, visits, stylist, spend, membership, due. There is no second CRM password. Follow-up can use that history so close-of-day is not a spreadsheet of names.

How do you treat no-shows?

Reminders and optional deposits protect the hour. A cancel should get a next step — waitlist or a soft-hour invite — before the chair goes cold. The drop you see depends on the rules you actually run. Bring your week to a demo and we will map it.

What should we budget?

Plans are on the salonbills pricing page, including a path to start free and a published growth price per location. We do not hide the number behind a “talk to sales” wall for the core floor. Pay for recovered chairs and cleaner tickets, not for extra admin hours.

Can we bill GST, tips, and split pay on one ticket?

Yes. Beauty tickets are the point: services, products, tips, memberships, packages, prepaid, UPI-ready splits. The ticket can start from an appointment or a walk-in. Membership discounts apply when you choose to apply them. Prior due can ride the same bill.
